Learn about cooking with Eat Medieval Summer School

Blackfriars Restaurant in Newcastle Upon Tyne will be hosting its third Eat Medieval Summer School. This unique and immersive five-day experience takes place from September 2nd to 6th, 2024.

Eat Medieval is a partnership between Blackfriars Restaurant and Durham University. The summer school program delves into the fascinating world of medieval cuisine through hands-on and interactive cookery sessions, all taking place within the historic confines of a former 13th-century Dominican friary. Learn about the ingredients, techniques, and flavours while creating authentic dishes under expert guidance. The Cookery School also includes a field trip to Raby Castle, home to one of the best-preserved medieval kitchens in Britain.
