Dr Emily Joan Ward is a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, where her research focuses on Britain and Europe between the eleventh and thirteenth centuries. Her latest book is Royal Childhood and Child Kingship: Boy Kings in England, Scotland, France, and Germany, c.1050–1262, from Cambridge University Press. Scotichronicast is hosted by Kate Buchanan. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Stirling in 2014, with her primary research is on medieval Scottish castles and their landscapes. She co-edited and contributed to Medieval and Early Modern Representations of Authority in Scotland and the British Isles, which was published by Routledge in 2016.
