Medieval Manuscript Exhibition comes for Christmas in Switzerland

If you are looking to see some medieval manuscripts this December, the place to go would be Basel, Switzerland. Dr. Jörn Günther Rare Books will be opening the doors to its gallery to exhibit some extremely rare examples of illumination and decoration from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Dr. Jörn Günther Rare Books is one of the leading private dealers in manuscripts, miniatures, and rare early printed books from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Their Christmas Exhibition will showcase some extremely rare examples of medieval manuscripts, including the Histoire Ancienne, a colossal decorated chronicle probably made for the French king at the end of the 14th century, the Crawford Hours which was illustrated by the Prayerbook Master around the year 1500, and a Flemish psalter created in the 13th century.

You can visit the Christmas Exhibition from December 6 to 16, Monday to Friday, between 10 am 12 noon, and 2 pm to 5 pm at the Dr. Jörn Günther Rare Books gallery on Spalenberg 55, 4051 Basel. Please visit their website for more details.
