Crusaders with Dan Jones

Who were the men and women who took up the cross and journeyed to Holy Lands? Danièle speaks with Dan Jones about his latest book on crusaders and on why it’s important for historians to talk about the crusades today.

Dan Jones is the author of Crusaders: The Epic History of the Wars for the Holy Land, as well as several other bestselling books about the Middle Ages, including The Templars: The Rise and Spectacular Fall of God’s Holy Warriors and The Plantagenets: The Warrior Kings and Queens Who Made England. He also spoke about his latest book with Helen Castor on the History Extra Podcast.  You can also read his article “Crusaders: did they fight for God or gold?” which was published in the October 2019 issue of BBC History Magazine.
