Medieval scholar Amy S. Kaufman has written her first novel. Check out the cover to The Traitor of Sherwood Forest.
To be released in the spring of 2025, The Traitor of Sherwood Forest is a historical reimagining of the Robin Hood ballads, told through the piercing eyes of one of his spies.
Kaufman is a medievalist whose work has appeared in Arthuriana, Studies in Medievalism, and The Washington Post. She is also co-author of The Devil’s Historians: How Modern Extremists Abuse the Medieval Past. “The Traitor of Sherwood Forest features a Robin Hood few modern readers have met: the chaotic, charismatic, morally grey hero of the medieval ballads,” she says. “I’m very excited for everyone to hear his story!”
The cover was designed by Micaela Alcaino. To learn more about the novel, please visit Penguin Random House.
