Saint Colette with Renate Blumenfeld-Kosinski

Not every saint gets a contemporary biography, let alone two, but fifteenth-century French saint Colette is among them. This week, Danièle speaks with Renate Blumenfeld-Kosinski about Saint Colette, her two very different biographies, and her remarkable life as a reformer on the road.

Renate Blumenfeld-Kosinski is Distinguished Professor Emerita at the University of Pittsburgh. A past president of the Medieval Academy of America, Renate does research on French literature, religious and political history, and the history of medicine. Click here to follow her on Academia.edu.

Renate’s latest book is Two Lives of Saint Colette: With a Selection of Letters by, to, and about Colette, published by Iter Press.

Renate Blumenfeld-Kosinski also appeared on the episode The Strange Case of Ermine de Reims
