Viking Wirral after the Battle of Brunanburh AD 937
Lecture by Steve Harding

Overview: Although still not proven, all the evidence seems to be pointing at a Wirral location (and probably Bebington) for the famous Battle of Brunanburh. The strong survival of Viking genes in old Wirral families for example could be interpreted either way and so we consider the consequences for Wirral in the most likely scenario it was here, but also briefly if not.
