Who is this book for?
While there are a plethora of translations that already exist of Beowulf, anyone with a serious interest in the Old English text will need to get a copy. Part of the reason is the translator (see below) and having a copy of the text as he sees it. Second, it comes with an extensive commentary and bibliography that will be very useful.

With dozens of articles and books, this former professor at Oxford and Harvard is a leading authority. The editorial duties for this book went to Leonard Neidorf, who is also highly regarded among scholars of Old English.
