Gli stranieri nell’alto medioevo

Abstract

L’obiettivo di questo piccolo contributo è quello di approfondire la questione legata la persona giuridica del waregang longobardo attraverso le evidenze documentarie disponibili. Una domanda-chiave rimane ancora oggi insoluta: qual’è il preciso contesto storico – e conseguentemente storiografico – entro cui inserire il waregang? Per quanto noto allo scrivente, le prime indagini di natura sistematica in merito risalgono al famoso letterato e linguista Jacob Grimm. Raccoglieranno, poi, il suo testimone i giuristi tedeschi dell’Ottocento e dei primi decenni del Novecento.
