Congratulations to the Medieval Museum in the Irish city of Waterford – they took home two awards “Best Heritage Project” and “Best Public Building” from the Local Authority Members Awards, an Irish body that promotes local and community efforts.
The museum opened its doors in the summer of 2012, and promotes the history of Waterford, a town founded in the 10th century. It is the home of Chorister’s Hall and contains several medieval treasures, such as a 4m-long Great Charter Roll dating from 1372 and a 15th century cloth-of-gold vestment.
