The Forsaken 14th Century: A Global History

Edited by Ibolya Horváth

World History Publishing
ISBN: 979-8-90148-349-7

Covering every region of the world, this book introduces readers to the many states and cultures that existed through an era of sweeping change and major catastrophes.

Excerpt:

In this volume, the authors aim to provide a truly global overview of the 14 century, with each region given approximately the same space. It is obviously impossible to cover every event in every country of the world in a single volume, just as you would not be able to visit every city in every country if you traveled around the world for a year. However, you could visit the best-known and a fair number of lesser-known places, try the local cuisine, talk to many different people, and see the differences in culture.

Who is this book for?

While this book is aimed at students and more general readers, it can serve as a useful tool for many medievalists, especially to introduce them to other parts of the medieval world, including the Americas, Australia and Oceania.
