Le Château de Pouzilhac was initially a royal castle, but was passed on to the House of Uzes by King Philip IV in the late 13th-century. The castle includes four towers that are linked by a wall, and can be entered through a portcullis gate.
Inside, one can find 25 rooms (including 12 bedrooms) that include Renaissance and baroque features, including a 17th century fresco-painted ceiling. Walking through the courtyard one will find terraces, hanging gardens and a swimming pool. The property also has guest houses, stables and a chapel.
