13th April 2016

Keynote Speaker: Dr Conor Kostick

Medieval Midlands (with generous support from the AHRC’s Midlands 3 Cities consortium) are pleased to invite proposals for papers for the inaugural Medieval Midlands Postgraduate Conference, to be held at The University of Nottingham on 13th April 2016. The theme of the conference is ‘Power and Society in the Medieval World’.

The conference considers a ‘Medieval World’ without geographical boundaries and welcomes papers with a focus on any part of the globe. It looks to cover a medieval period broadly defined as 400 – 1500 CE and invites papers from all relevant academic disciplines. Participants are encouraged to interpret the theme of ‘Power and Society’ broadly and creatively.

The conference will celebrate the dynamic and innovative research currently taking place in the UK Midlands, and submissions are therefore invited from researchers based within that region.

Papers will be 20 minutes in length. Abstracts of around 300 words are invited from postgraduate researchers, and should be sent to Anja Rohde at [email protected] by Friday 12th February 2016. Please use “Medieval Midlands Conference Submission” as the title of your email.

Travel reimbursement will be available for speakers
