John D Hosler, Associate Professor at Morgan State University, discusses his research into the military events that took place during the Siege of Acre (1189-1191), one of the key events of the Third Crusade. Hosler examines the many episodes during the siege, which involved Saladin’s Egyptian and Syrian troops, fighting against crusader forces that were eventually joined by kings Philip Augustus and Richard I. Hosler is currently working on a book about the Siege of Acre.
