Wales is home to some of the most fascinating castles on the British Isles – these medieval fortresses have fought over for hundreds of years and display some unique architectural heritage. Several of these medieval castles were built by England’s King Edward I in the latter years of the thirteenth-century when he was attempting to secure his control over Wales.
