Abstract: A study was carried out on the past and present techniques, processes, and procedures that enable the creation of seamless fashion for innovative ends. Unlike knitting and moulding, which are by far the most developed methods of producing seamless clothing, there are a number of other techniques that can also be used to create seamless fashion, which deserve equal attention. This paper offers a chronological review of the development of some of these techniques towards the creation of seamless fashion.
Introduction: The convention of fashion design and production involves cutting and seaming fabrics and materials. This convention has in certain ways limited the way fashion can be created. Attempts have been made to create items of clothing without seams, using various techniques and processes. It was realised that the stages of development of techniques possible of creating seamless fashion vary. In addition to knitting and moulding, which are two of the most developed techniques in the creation of seamless fashion; there are many others that deserve equal attention and consideration.
