Re-constructed heads of an unknown female and of a medieval knight whose skeletons were found during preparatory work for the recent refurbishment of the Palace at Stirling Castle. They was found in a mass grave of ten skeletons thought to have been slaughtered in a siege during the Anglo-Scottish wars of the late 13th and 14th centuries. Photo courtesy Historic Scotland
