U.S. News and World Report has released its 2012 rankings for Best Graduate Schools, with Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California – Berkeley coming up as among the top places for medievalists.
In the category of Medieval and Renaissance Literature, the University of Pennsylvania was ranked first, followed by Harvard University, while in the category of European History, Harvard tied with the University of California – Berkeley for the top spot.
The U.S. News Best Graduate Schools 2012 report, which was made available online today and will be published in a special issue on April 5th, is a detailed statistical categorization of more than 1,200 programs throughout the United States.
“After two brutal recessionary years, signs are showing a positive outlook for prospective graduate students and graduates this spring,” said Brian Kelly, editor of U.S. News and World Report. “The new and updated Best Graduate Schools rankings guide will serve as an essential resource for anyone considering professional development and continuing education opportunities.”
