The 1272 Statute of the Town of Dubrovnik
Lučić, Josip
Dubrovnik Annals 1 (1997)
Abstract
The Dubrovnik Statute is by all means one of the most complex, universal and most comprising among the Statutes of the Croatian littoral communes. Though not the oldest one, it presents a very good picture of the way of living and working in one commune in which legislative, administrative and economic life was developing according to the standards set by other already developed Adriatic and also Mediterranean, especially Italian, communes.
