Abstract

Palynological investigations were carried out at a depth of 40 cm from sediments, associated with the former Royal Gardens on the Wawel Hill. Small numbers of sporomorphs persisted, providing information on nearby plant associations near the surroundings. However, firm evidence for the herbaceous plants cultivated in the garden of Queen Bona Sforza during the Renaissance period has still proved elusive.
