Abstract: This paper summarizes a number of observations about the possible origin, manufacture, weight, and hoarding of two gold filigree pendants found at Udovice in Serbia. It is argued theat they wer emade in South Scandinavia after 465. Thet were then transported to the Continent in the period 457-500. Their final deposit at Udovice is likely to have coincided with conflicts along the Danube between the Byzantine Empire, the Gepids, Herules and Ostrogoths.
