Synopsis: Examines one of the writings by Abu Sahl Isa b. Yahya al-Masibi al-Jurjani (d. c.1009). His work, Kitab al-Mi’a fi’l-Tibb, is medical manual aimed for students and practioner. This article summarizes the work and gives selections from its text, which deals with a wide variety of medical issues, such as the anatomy of the heart, principles and causes of diseases, and specific illnesses.
