Synopsis: Was the Bayeux Tapestry’s goal merely to repeat what had alreadt been established by history-makers, or was its narrative meant to be more complex that that? Was the originator consciously referring to several different sources for his information, and were deliberate parallels being drawn with other art or literary forms?
